OSCE participating states, during the official opening of the OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting, which started in Warsaw on Monday, have drawn attention to human rights violations by members of illegal armed formations in Donbas and Crimea, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"OSCE participating states supported Ukraine and drew attention to numerous violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms by illegal armed groups in Donbas, which are operating with the support of the Russian Federation, as well as in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which was illegally occupied by the Russian Federation," the ministry's policy and communications department said in a statement on Monday.

Director of the Policy and Communications Department at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleksiy Makeyev drew attention to serious threats to security and human rights in the OSCE area as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine, the report says.

"The violation by Russia of the norms and principles of international law and human rights is incompatible with OSCE principles in the field of security and cooperation. The irresponsible actions of Russia are absolutely unacceptable in Europe in the 21st century," Makeyev said, speaking to the audience.
