The European Commission has proposed holding energy consultations on gas issues involving the Ukrainian, European and Russian sides on September 27, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan has said.

"The European Commission has proposed a date - September 27, but the Russian side, as far as I know, has not yet agreed to it," he said, while answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine on the date of such consultations.

He noted that the Ukrainian side would be accept "any date, except Monday and Tuesday, September 22-23, because a meeting of the Ministerial Council of the European Energy Community, at which Ukraine will preside, will be held on these days."

"The venue will be determined additionally as a result of our further trilateral consultations. Now I have no information on the venue, as the date has not been agreed. If the date is agreed, it will be easier to find the venue, and it will most likely be a European country," Prodan said.
