Second humanitarian convoy from Russia arrives in Luhansk

A convoy of trucks carrying Russian humanitarian aid for eastern Ukraine has arrived in Luhansk, an Interfax correspondent reports.

The vehicles are currently being unloaded at a food warehouse in Luhansk. A total of 33 trucks are currently in the city.

"We have delivered 2,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid, which includes essential foodstuffs for survival of residents of the city and the region, that is, water, buckwheat, sugar, medicines, and a lot of other articles," a member of the team escorting the convoy told Interfax.

The trucks were ready to carry humanitarian aid several weeks ago but were delayed "because there was no permission from the Ukrainian side," he said.
