Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy has asked for assistance in the evacuation of all children from the war zones through humanitarian corridors.

"To prevent the situation when Russian mercenaries could use children as "human shields," the Social Policy Ministry of Ukraine appealed to the inter-agency coordination staff, the head of Donetsk Regional State Administration asking to assist in taking measures for the safe evacuation of all children, who are in the epicenter of hostilities. Such evacuation should be performed through humanitarian corridors established by Ukrainian military men with providing transport for carriage of children," the speaker of the information-analytical center of the NSDC, Andriy Lysenko, said.

According to him, the ministry also asked to instruct the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine and Ukrzaliznytsia to provide three additional wagons for trains running from the Krasnodon station for a possible carriage of children from orphanages in Luhansk region.

Lysenko reported that as of August 7 some 43 children's family type homes and 85 children from foster homes had been transported from Luhansk and Donetsk regions to other regions of Ukraine.
