Interpol puts Ukrainian nationalist leader Yarosh on wanted list

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has declared Dmytro Yarosh, the leader of the Ukrainian nationalistic organization Right Sector, wanted at the Russian judicial authorities' request.

The Interpol Web site's "wanted persons" section says that Yarosh is wanted by Russia's judicial authorities "for prosecution/to serve a sentence" on charges of "public incitement to terrorist activities involving the use of mass media" and "public incitement to extremist activities involving the use of mass media."

"If you have any information please contact," the website says.

It was reported earlier that Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika announced on April 11, 2014 that the Russian Prosecutor General's Office had forwarded a request to Interpol on declaring Yarosh internationally wanted and arresting him. "We have sent a request to the Interpol National Central Bureau, the Russian Interior Ministry, on declaring Yarosh internationally wanted and arresting him," Chaika told journalists in Simferopol.
