Kyiv denies claims Ukrainian warplane was seen near Malaysian Boeing

Claims a Ukrainian warplane was seen near the Malaysian passenger airliner that came down on July 17 are untrue, Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy has said.

"There was not a single plane in the zone where the passenger liner crashed," Parubiy said on the Freedom of Speech program on ICTV television on Monday evening.

He said that immediately after the plane crashed the Ukrainian leadership proposed forming an international, not jut interagency commission, to investigate the air disaster.

"Our weapon is the truth. All satellites, all data that can be made available to the world, will confirm that the plane was brought down with Russia's direct support, with Russian weapons and by a Russian crew involved in that combat," he said.

"They are trying to deceive Ukraine. They are trying to deceive the whole world," Parubiy said.
