Ukraine, Algeria to sign number of agreements on cooperation in various fields
Ukraine and Algeria are planning in the future to sign a number of agreements on cooperation in various fields, according to Acting Temporary Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Algeria Andriy Biletsky.
"Five agreements have been prepared. They are agreements in the sphere of investment protection, the creation of a bilateral intergovernmental commission for cooperation, in the sphere of merchant shipping, and in education," Biletsky said.
The list of agreements also includes an agreement in the sphere of high technologies.
Biletsky said that the documents have been finalized and are to be signed.
"However, to sign the documents, it is necessary for the foreign minister come here, as he has not been here for a long time. The Algerians are approaching the issue very delicately," he said.
Biletsky said that according to forecasts, Ukraine's trade with Algeria this year would be worth $300 million.
"The State Statistics Committee said that over seven months that trade had reached $176 million," Biletsky said. He also said that in recent years trade between Ukraine and Algeria had fallen.
