36 killed, 31 wounded during anti-terrorist operation in Donetsk on May 26-27 – regional authorities

According to preliminary information of the health department of Donetsk Regional State Administration, 36 people were killed and taken to morgues, and another 31 people wounded during the anti-terrorist operation in Donetsk on May 26 and in the early hours of May 27.

"According to preliminary data, 36 people were killed and taken to a forensic bureau yesterday and earlier today during the antiterrorist operation in Donetsk. Thirty-one people were injured. They are in hospitals and medical institutions. Their conditions vary in severity," the press service of Donetsk Regional Administration said in a statement on Tuesday.

They did not indicate to which conflict party the deceased belonged.

Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianchenko earlier said that in the fighting in Donetsk on May 26 between a Ukrainian law enforcement contingent and the armed groups left 40 people dead, among them two civilians. Lukyanchenko did not say to which side the fatalities belonged. Thirty-one people injured in the fighting are in hospitals, among then four civilians, he said.
