Death toll from train crash near Moscow rises to five - Interior Ministry

Immediate reports indicate that five people were killed and 15 others injured when passenger and freight trains collided in the Narofominsk district west of Moscow.

"The death toll from the train crash has risen to five. Fifteen people were injured, five of them are in serious condition," the Interior Ministry told Interfax.

According to a source in law enforcement agencies, 25 people were rushed to hospitals outside Moscow after the crash.

"Twenty-five victims were taken to hospitals from the scene as of 2 p.m. and three of them are in intensive care," the source told Interfax.
