Tihipko assures that he holds election campaign at his expenses
Ukrainian banker Serhiy Tihipko, who has announced plans to run for the presidency, has said his election campaign is being financed at his own expense.
"I finance [the election campaign] at my own expense, but in the regions there are people who are starting to head headquarters, who cover a part of the expenditure, donate offices, furniture, computers, cars and so on," Tihipko said at a press conference on Tuesday in Kyiv.
He said that he receives more support in regions.
"I'm sure that soon [my] ratings will increase, and the quantity of [my supporters] will rise," he said.
Asked whether he receives financial support from Ukrainian oligarchs, Tihipko said: "No. And there will be no such support. I will not agree to the conditions that the big financial partners would like me to agree to. We will manage on our own".
