Tymoshenko organizing roundtable in Donetsk to settle problems of Ukraine's southeast

A candidate to the post of Ukrainian president and leader of Batkivschyna Party Yulia Tymoshenko has called on protesters, politicians and public figures to organize a roundtable to settle the situation in the southeastern part of Ukraine after Easter holidays.

The politician said on the Ukrainian television's Shuster Live program late on Friday, April 18, that during her visit of Donetsk she saw that it is impossible to agree only at the geopolitical level, as "people are not ready to be outside making of any decisions."

"We agreed that in a day we will meet in the evening and continue our dialogue until we see a solution that suits everyone," Tymoshenko said.

"I offered to organize a big roundtable in Donetsk right after the holidays, where all of Ukraine will be represented. For the first time, all the groups blocking government buildings in the east will be able to sit down at a roundtable with representatives of the intelligentsia, prominent figures from western and central Ukraine, and politicians from all factions to listen, understand and finally start working in the interests of the people," she said.

"I believe in this roundtable and in Geneva agreements. I think that the dialog we've managed to start will help us making so that all the agreements are fulfilled," she said.
