Nuland arrives on two- day visit to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian authorities and opposition

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland arrived on a two-day visit to Ukraine on Thursday, the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine has reported.

Nuland is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, acting Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara, opposition leaders and civil society representatives.

Earlier, the U.S. Department of State said that at the meetings Nuland would discuss the current situation in Ukraine, as well as possible ways of moving the country towards democracy, European integration and economic growth.

At the end of her visit to Ukraine, Nuland will hold a press conference for the media on Friday.
