Some local councils to gather on Monday to discuss recent events in Ukraine

A number of local councils have announced unscheduled and scheduled meetings on Monday.

In particular, Odesa regional and city councils' deputies are to gather for extraordinary sessions on Monday.

Odesa regional council's meeting is scheduled for 1600 on Monday. Odesa regional council announced it would gather on Monday to ask Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to prevent the breakup of Ukraine's constitutional order and division of civil society in the country.

Odesa city council's public relations office neither confirmed nor denied the information about the extraordinary session. But several Odesa city council deputies assured an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent on condition of anonymity that the session would take place.

Dnipropetrovsk regional council will gather for its regular, 21st session at 1300 on Monday. Its agenda includes two issues: a statement by Dnipropetrovsk regional council's deputies and miscellaneous issues.

Dnipropetrovsk regional council deputy Ihor Ohorodnikov told Interfax-Ukraine that he had been informed on Sunday evening that the statement would cover support for the Cabinet's resolution on the suspension of the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union.

Poltava and Kharkiv regional councils invited their deputies to meet at 12 noon on Monday for an extraordinary session to discuss the political situation in the country.

Referring to its own sources, the press service of the Svoboda party's Kharkiv regional organization told Interfax-Ukraine that Kharkiv regional council's deputies plan to approve an address to the president on imposing a state of emergency in the country.

Crimean's parliament is scheduled to meet for an extraordinary plenary meeting of the seventh session of the Supreme Council of Crimea on Monday to discuss the political situation in Ukraine. Crimean lawmakers are to meet at 1100 in the Crimean parliament's session hall. Their agenda, among other things, includes an appeal by the Supreme Council of Crimea to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
