Azarov: authorities not interested in current scenario, their task to save peace and stability

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has stated the government is not interested in breaking up peaceful demonstrations.

"Right now one thing is clear: the power is not interested in the scenario unfolded. Vice versa, our task is to save peace and stability in the country," the premier wrote on his page on Facebook on Saturday.

"I have repeatedly said and will repeat once again: people, who legitimately and peacefully express their protest, are our fellow citizens, whose rights we must protect. These people express their support for European integration, i.e. the policy pursued by the president and the government. We appreciate their opinion, their position and are holding a dialogue with them as with other members of our society," said Azarov.
