Investigative group for inquiry into night events on Euromaidan created - Azarov's press secretary

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is outraged at the incidents that took place on Independence Square in Kyiv last night and confirmed that an operational investigative group has been created for an inquiry into these facts.

"I am deeply concerned and outraged at what happened on Independence Square at night. The information from different sources I have at the moment does not allow to draw univocal conclusions: who is responsible for this provocation," he wrote on his page on Facebook.

Therefore an operational investigative group with the participation of prosecutors was created, which will give the qualified legal objective assessment of all parties of the conflict.

"I am confident that it will be done because all actions, all events are documented. This group has been tasked with conducting this investigation within the shortest time possible and giving the society a clear answer as to who should be punished, for what they should be punished, and how they should be punished," he said.

Azarov's press officer Vitaliy Lukyanenko earlier announced that an operative group would be created to investigate the events that occurred on Kyiv's Independence Square in the early hours of Saturday.
