The European Union hopes that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will reach a consensus concerning the adoption of the bill on the prosecutor's office submitted by the presidential administration.

"We closely watched the process of the development of this bill, which was prepared in close cooperation with the Council of Europe, and we hope that its text that takes into account the comments of the Venice Commission and the Council of Europe will be adopted by a broad majority by the parliament of Ukraine even before the Vilnius summit," the press service of the EU Delegation in Kyiv told Interfax-Ukraine when commenting on filing this bill to the parliament.

The EU Delegation also expressed the hope that a consensus would be reached in the Ukrainian parliament for the adoption of the relevant law.

"We hope that this legal assistance from the European institutions and the common goal to sign the association agreement will help to ensure that a broad consensus be reached among all political forces in parliament for the adoption of this important law," the EU Delegation's press service said.
