Rybak: Entry of Ukrainians into Russia on foreign travel passports not considered at interstate level

The possible entry of Ukrainian citizens into Russia on foreign travel passports was not considered in Ukraine or Russia, Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Rybak has said.

"I will tell you that there are politicians in our country who have their own views and there are politicians in Russia who express their own views. But this question was not considered at the interstate level, and I don't think that it will currently be resolved by the Russian or our side," he said at a press conference in Rivne on Tuesday.

He said that Russia remains a strategic partner for Ukraine and that Ukraine will do everything to cooperate on mutually beneficial terms with Russia.

As reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on October 27 that the citizens of Russia and Ukraine should cross the Russian-Ukrainian border using foreign travel passports.

"I think this is absolutely right. They should use foreign travel passports, not internal passports. Getting a foreign travel passport is not a problem now," he said.
