Roshen denies rumors about its acquisition by Norway's Orkla

The Roshen confectionery corporation denies information about the sale of its business to Norway's Orkla, which was reported by Xpinform.ru.

Rosen said in a posting on its Web site that "such a statement is groundless" and the source from the Renaissance company, quoted by Xpinform.ru, is not reliable.

"Roshen Corporation has been successfully working and supplying products to more than 30 countries, and continues to actively develop new markets. The company works without loans," the posting reads.

Xpinform.ru on October 26, 2013, reported that Norway's Orkla, which owns a confectionery in St. Petersburg, Russia, is about to complete the acquisition of Roshen within several weeks. Xpinform.ru reported that Roshen had been considering Orkla's proposal.

Roshen, a leading confectionary producer in Ukraine, operates confectionery factories in Kyiv, Mariupol, Kremenchuk and Vinnytsia, the dairy producer Bershadmoloko. It also runs confectionary facilities in Klaipeda (Lithuania), Lipetsk (Russia), and Bonbonetti Choco (Hungary).

The company produces around 200 types of products. Its total annual production volume is up to 410,000 tonnes.
