Ex-defense minister Yekhanurov appointed first deputy head of presidential secretariat
Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has appointed Yuriy Yekhanurov the first deputy head of the Presidential Secretariat.
The head of state signed a decree to that effect on Tuesday.
As reported, the Ukrainian parliament dismissed Yekhanurov as defense minister on June 5. The respective resolution reads that the minister's dismissal is linked to numerous violations with illegal operations with special equipment used to dismantle nuclear weapon storage facilities.
Yekhanurov challenged this decision in court, but Kyiv's District Administrative Court rejected his relevant appeal on July 9.
