The Teremky station of Kyiv Metropoliten will be commissioned as scheduled – by the Independence Day, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

"We will try to open the new Teremky subway station by the Independence Day," he said at a meeting at the site of the Teremky station construction.

Popov said that earlier reports appeared in mass media about the possible postponement of the opening of the station, primarily due to problems with financing.

"But now we will not postpone the term of opening the object. There is understanding with the government, the issue of the final financing of construction in a short time is being discussed at the level of the prime minister. Under these conditions, we will manage to commission the station as planned," Popov said.

He expressed confidence that PJSC Kyivmetrobud would meet the challenge.

"I have no doubt in the professionalism of subway builders. What I saw today adds optimism: the station has been almost completed," said the official.
