Ukrainian woman who went missing in Lebanon in May freed in Syria, says Foreign Ministry

A Ukrainian woman who disappeared in Lebanon in May was found and released in Syria on June 18.

"On June 18, as a result of activities undertaken by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and relevant diplomatic institutions, together with the authorities of Lebanon and Syria, a citizen of Ukraine who disappeared on the night of May 24 in the Lebanese city of Zahle, was freed in Syria," Acting Director of the Foreign Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to him, the Ukrainian woman is currently safe in Turkey.

Perebyinis added that the Foreign Ministry and the Ukrainian Embassy in Turkey are working on returning her home.
