Ukrainian Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko has noted the success of cybercrime investigations conducted by Ukrainian law enforcers in cooperation with agents of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Interior Ministry's media liaisons office has reported.

"We want to continue studying U.S. experience in the field of intellectual property protection and the fight against cybercrime, as this issue is currently relevant not only to our country, but also to the whole world," Zakharchenko said at a meeting with his U.S. colleague, FBI Director Robert Mueller.

He also said that training sessions for specialists in the field of internal security and the fight against corruption for Ukrainian law enforcement agencies had been conducted by foreign experts.

Mueller, in turn, noted that there are several areas in which law enforcement cooperation is very important for the successful development of the country. He said that one of such areas is the fight against intellectual property rights violations, particularly Internet piracy.

"We are grateful to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry for the measures taken in the fight against this crime, but we are ready to continue to work with you to limit the distribution on the market of materials that violate intellectual property rights. Combining our efforts, we will be able to lay a strong foundation for our cooperation," Mueller said.
