Heads of two towns in Khmelnytsky, Ternopil regions charged with bribery
Ukrainian prosecutors has launched criminal proceedings against the heads of the administrations of two towns in Khmelnytsky and Ternopil regions, who have been charged with taking bribes to settle land deals, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Monday.
The prosecutor's office of Khmelnytsky region launched criminal proceedings against the mayor of one of the region's towns under part 2 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code. The mayor is accused of demanding $2,000 from an entrepreneur in exchange for a permission to rent a land plot.
Apart from this, the prosecutor's office of Ternopil region opened a criminal case against the head of a regional town charged with extortion and taking a UAH 150,000 bribe for land allocation.
