Tymoshenko's daughter: Ukraine's politics should not interfere with Euro 2012
The political events in Ukraine should not interfere with the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, the daughter of the imprisoned former Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Yevhenia, has said.
According to Yevhenia Tymoshenko, her mother worked hard to ensure that Ukraine and Poland receive the right to co-host the championship.
At the same time, the ex-premier's daughter added that she understood why some politicians had decided to boycott Euro 2012.
As reported, some of EU politicians have proposed to boycott Euro 2012 matches in Ukraine in connection with the abuse of human rights and freedoms in the country, in particular, political persecution of Yulia Tymoshenko.
Euro 2012 will open on June 8, and its final match is due to take place in Kyiv on July 1.
