Court refuses to consider UESU case without Tymoshenko, announces break until May 21
Judge of Kyivsky District Court of Kharkiv Kostiantyn Sadovsky has ruled to postpone a hearing of a criminal case against former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) Corporation until 1000 on May 21, as Tymoshenko was absent from the court sitting.
Tymoshenko's defense team insisted that the trial should be postponed until complete recovery of the ex-premier.
"The court has enough power to suspend the trial until complete recovery of Yulia Volodymyrivna. I think it is impossible to hear to the case while she is absent," Tymoshenko's lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk said.
