NCCR permits Big Three mobile communications operators to take part in 4G tender for 1800 MHz spectrum

The National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCR) has selected tender participants to receive 4G communications licenses for the 1800 MHz frequency spectrum: mobile communications operators Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell.

According to a report on the commission's website on Monday, at the second meeting, the tender committee on February 26 examined the documents confirming the receipt of a tender guarantee by the NCCR for the relevant lots from the bidders in the tender. It was determined that all bidders met the conditions. Thus, the tender commission recognized the bidders as bidders for each of the six lots with the approval of the corresponding register of participants.

At the same time, the NCCR on February 23 (before the date of starting the tender) received the written application from lifecell LLC about the refusal of further participation in the tender for lot No. 5. Lifecell's tender offer for lot 5 was not considered.

In addition, on March 2, 2018 at 11:00 in the NCCR at a meeting of the tender commission plans to open the envelopes of bidders for each lot, as a result of which the price indicated in them will be announced. At the meeting of the tender commission, authorized representatives of the bidders are entitled to attend. The voice auction and the determination of the winners of the tender is tentatively scheduled for March 6, 2018.
