Leader of the People's Front party, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has begun his visit to Washington with a meeting with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Wess Mitchell.

"I started the visit to Washington with a meeting with Wess Mitchell, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. I am impressed by the practical, result-oriented attitude of the Ukrainian State Department team," Yatsenyuk wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

The ex-premier stressed the mutual understanding of partners in the consideration of the raised issues.

"In conversation with Wess Mitchell, we've discussed the most important issues on the bilateral agenda that should be implemented this year: security, economic development, privatization and combating corruption. I am glad that our approaches, assessments and expectations coincide," he added.
