Public debt for housing services in Ukraine 5.9% up in Dec 2017

Public debt for housing and utilities services in Ukraine in December 2017 increased by 5.9% from November 2017 and amounted to UAH 28.7 billion (excluding electricity).

According to the State Statistics Service, the data are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol and part of the ATO zone. Data on Donetsk and Luhansk regions could be adjusted.

According to the service, in general in December 2017 Ukrainians paid UAH 8.9 billion for housing services, which amounted to 82.3% of the amount charged for this month.

In general, in 2017 Ukrainians paid UAH 75.8 billion for housing services (88.1% of the amounts accrued for this period), which is 26.3% more than in 2016 (the level of payment was 82.8%).

The highest level of payment for housing services in December 2017 was recorded in Rivne (126.3%, including debt repayment for the previous periods) and Ivano-Frankivsk regions (108.2%), the lowest one in Luhansk (62%) and Zakarpattia regions (67.1%). The payment level in Kyiv was 68.9%.

Average charges for housing services in the country per one owner of the personal account, taking into account electricity consumption (150 kWh), in December 2017 increased by 16% compared to November, to UAH 1,476.
