Rada to adopt law on High Anti-Corruption Court in March – Iryna Gerashchenko

The Verkhovna Rada in March will adopt a bill on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court in general, after which it will take several months for the court to be launched, First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Iryna Gerashchenko has said.

"I think we will have the adopted bill in March. And we will have several months to start the court," she said on the air of the TV program Freedom of Speech on Monday evening.

The politician reminded that this week the parliament intends to include the relevant bills in the agenda of the session.

Gerashchenko expressed doubts that the Verkhovna Rada will adopt the draft law as a basis at the same week, but stressed that the people's deputies would consider the relevant legislative initiatives at the first reading at the first plenary week of the next session. After that, it will take several weeks to prepare the adopted document for the second reading.

"There are certain comments, including ones from our international partners. And now it is in the hands of the Verkhovna Rada to finalize it to make it perfect," the first deputy speaker said.
