Govt annuls decision regarding of prices of gas for households made for 'vacuum' period when regulator annuls fixed monthly payment

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has annulled its resolution dated April 26, 2017 on the rules of calculating the price of gas for households and religious organizations passed in the period of the legal 'vacuum' when the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) annulled its resolution on fixed monthly payments for gas.

The decision was made by the government last week.

As reported, the government resolution dated April 26, 2017 was approved after gas distributing companies and gas suppliers under public service obligations (PSO) asked to remove the legal vacuum in the issue of payment for gas and its distribution appeared after the annulment of a resolution of the NCER on the introduction of fixed monthly payments for gas distribution.

The commission on March 28, 2017 made a decision to introduce fixed monthly payments for gas distribution. On April 10, 2017 the commission annulled its decision. The resolution on the cancelation of fixed monthly payments was not published in official media for a long period of time and the legal vacuum appeared.
