Rada's anti-corruption committee fails to announce auditor competition

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's anti-corruption committee was unable to adopt a decision to hold a competition to select an auditor of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) due to a lack of a quorum.

The committee did not support recommendations from several deputies, including MP Serhiy Leschenko (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) to choose an auditor from among nominees selected for the previous competition.

Two dozen deputies belong to the committee, requiring at least 13 to attend sessions. Only 11 MPs were present.

Acting committee head Yuriy Savchuk has scheduled a one more committee hearing on Thursday, December 21, 2017.
