Kyivstar mulling how to challenge competition agency's fine of UAH 21.3 mln

The tariffs for voice calls in the network of Kyivstar mobile communications operator is fully in line with the requirements of the law on telecommunications, the company has said.

"Being aware of the concern of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine regarding the possible imperfection of some companies in communication with subscribers, the company took measures in advance to make this communication more understandable. The issue of a possible appeal by Kyivstar against the committee's decision on imposing the fine is being considered," Leading Specialist on public relations of Kyivstar Iryna Lelichenko said.

She said that, according to the official position of the operator, the committee's claims do not concern the tariffs of voice calls, but only how the company informed the subscribers about it.

"Tariffs of voice calls in the Kyivstar network fully comply with the requirements of the law of Ukraine on telecommunications and the rules of the provision and receipt of telecommunications services. It should be pointed out that all mobile operators in Ukraine apply the same pricing principle," the company said.

The company said that it always acts in the interests of subscribers and under the current legislation of Ukraine.

As reported, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine decided to impose a fine of UAH 21.308 million on Kyivstar in the case of informing about the conditions for call tariffs.
