Energy efficiency loans help to raise over UAH 6 bln of investment

The government-sustained energy efficiency loans program in three years allowed raising over UAH 6 billion of investment in the Ukrainian economy, Head of Ukraine's State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhiy Savchuk has said.

"Thanks to the interest of the public in energy efficiency the energy effective equipment and materials production market has revived, as well as the market of insulation, window installation, gas boiler replacement services and other services," the press service of the agency reported, citing Savchuk.

He said that in three years almost 400,000 families used the government-funded program.

Savchuk said that the number of local energy efficiency programs doubled in 2017 compared with 2015, to 155, and their financing by local budgets quadrupled, to UAH 57 million.

As reported, the national budget for 2018 announced UAH 400 million for energy efficiency loans, and the half of the sum will be injected to co-financing of energy efficient measures taken by homeowner associations.
