Poroshenko signs bill on appointing NCER members by president before new members selected at tender into law

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a bill permitting the Ukrainian president to appoint members of the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) until new members are selected at a tender into law.

The parliament received the document signed by the president on December 12.

According to the law, the president will be able to appoint all members of the commission for vacant posts for the period of up to three months.

Bill No. 7342-1 drawn up by MPs Oleksandr Dombrovsky (Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction), Mykhailo Bondar (People's Front faction) and Yuliy Ioffe (Opposition Bloc) was passed by lawmakers on December 7, 2017.
