Naftogaz finds no evidence of Paradise Papers info on withdrawal of funds to offshores by Ukrtransgaz board member Alekseyenko

The inspectors of Naftogaz Ukrainy have not revealed confirmation of mass media information about the withdrawal of the state company's funds to offshores by the board member of PJSC Ukrtransgaz, Serhiy Alekseyenko, the press service of Naftogaz has reported.

"The audit found out that Ukrtransgaz did not sign contracts with Pioneer Foundation and/or Estera Trust Ltd (the registering agent and the director of the fund) and, accordingly, did not make any payments in favor of these companies. During Alekseyenko's work at the post of adviser to the chairman at Naftogaz, his competence did not include authority to dispose property or the company's funds," the report said.

According to Naftogaz, Pioneer Foundation was registered on January 25, 2016 on the Isle of Man with the aim of long-term planning of the inheritance of the Alekseyenko family.

"During the existence of Pioneer Foundation, he had not carried out any activity, no accounts had been opened, respectively, no funds or assets had been obtained. The fund had no affiliated companies and its activities were officially terminated on April 18, 2017," Naftogaz said.
