Rada doubles fee for control of freight, transport on border, fee for transit across Ukrainian roads

Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada has doubled the fee collected at checkpoints in the Ukrainian border.

The requirement was approved when lawmakers voted for amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine on December 7.

The amendments, in particular, relate to the section with the rates of a single fee for the control of goods and vehicles at the checkpoints in the state border of Ukraine, the fees for transportation of vehicles on the roads of Ukraine (for each kilometer of the trip) and the additional payment for each kilometer of the trip for vehicles exceeding the limits for their total weight, axial loading and (or) dimensional parameters.

So if earlier the rate of a single fee per vehicle for buses with a passenger capacity of 10 to 30 people was EUR 2, now it is EUR 4. The same fee applies to trucks, large vehicles, including cars with overload and excess standards.

In addition, the rate of a single fee for driving on roads for each kilometer of the trip doubled. For example, for buses with passenger capacity from 10 to 30 people, it was increased from EUR 0.02 to EUR 0.04.

According to the State Treasury, the revenue target for the current year for these fees is UAH 396 million. In January-October 2017, UAH 346.03 million was received. The funds are sent to the general fund of the national budget.
