The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has foreseen the increase in funding for the Energy Efficiency Fund to UAH 1.6 bln in the draft national budget for 2018 for second reading.

"We paid special attention to increasing financing for energy efficiency when preparing the draft law on the national budget for second reading. From next year, for the first time, we are launching the State Energy Efficiency Fund. This is a system instrument that will make it possible to use energy resources very economically and qualitatively," Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said at a government meeting on Friday.

The draft national budget, in particular, foresees UAH 1.6 billion for the Energy Efficiency Fund, the program of "warm" credits will also be extended, for which UAH 400 million is provided.

In addition, the Cabinet expects to receive at least UAH 800 million of support from international partners for financing the Energy Efficiency Fund.

In general, the Cabinet plans to finance about 120,000 Ukrainian families under energy efficiency programs in 2017.
