Poroshenko, Engie CEO discuss projects to modernize Ukraine's UGS and GTS

 Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Director General of France's energy group Engie Isabelle Kocher, according to the official website of the head of state.

"During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of participation of the French side in the projects to modernize Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities (UGS) and gas transportation systems (GTS), as well as building solar energy facilities," the report said.

The president expressed satisfaction with the level of Ukraine's cooperation with Engie Group, which is the largest European gas supplier for Ukrainian consumers, and expressed hope that further cooperation will contribute to strengthening the energy security and transit potential of Ukraine, as well as cooperation with France in the fight against climate change and preservation of the environment.

Kocher confirmed interest in participating in the National Investment Council, the report says.
