Ukraine in August 2017 increased natural gas consumption by 16.6%, to 1.32 billion cubic meters compared with the same period last year, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has said.

In the reporting period coal use decreased by 11.7%, to 3.927 million tonnes, heavy fuel oil consumption by 50.1%, to 22,000 tonnes.

As reported, Ukraine in January-July 2017 imported 7.797 billion cubic meters of natural gas for a total of $1.776 billion.
