Results of reforms would be seen in one year – finance minister
Results of the land reform, privatization and the fiscal service reform would be seen in Ukraine in one year, Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk has said.
"We do not have much time for preparations. We have been prepared for a long time. We have done a lot. The land reform, privatization and the fiscal service reform would require doubled efforts. These reforms would not take much time. In a year we will be able to implement them if they are put as priority ones," he said at the Ukrainian Financial Forum in Odesa on Thursday organized by the ICU Investment Group.
He also said that he sees a potential for economic growth by 6-7% in coming years.
"Yes, I believe that the results of the reforms would be seen soon. I talked to hundreds of investors. I have a feeling of tsunami in a good way. I say about the interest of investors in Ukraine. We should use this opportunity," Danyliuk said.
However, during the discussion senior emerging markets sovereign strategist BlueBay Asset Management Timothy Ash said that he does not believe in these optimistic forecasts.
