The forecast hryvnia exchange rate for late 2018 is UAH 30.10/$1 in the government's bill on the national budget of Ukraine for 2018, according to an explanatory note to the bill.

According to the document, taking into account this exchange rate, direct state debt as of early 2019 would be UAH 1.999 trillion or 61.5% of GDP, guaranteed state debt would be UAH 747.55 million and total state debt would reach 84.6% of GDP.

Earlier Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk said that the draft 2018 national budget is based on the forecast of average exchange rate of UAH 29.30/$1.

As reported, the 2017 national budget was built, taking into account average annual hryvnia exchange rate of UAH 27.20/$1 and UAH 27.80/$1 for late 2017. At present, the hryvnia exchange rate is UAH 26.2244/$1 compared to UAH 27.1909/$1 as of early 2017.
