Poroshenko to participate in opening ceremony of Invictus Games in Toronto on Sept 22
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and representatives of the Ukrainian government will arrive in Toronto, Canada, for the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games on September 22.
"At once after New York ... we're going to Toronto. And we'll be with you in Toronto on September 22, at the opening and at the closing ceremony with the representatives of the government and my team. We'll keep our fingers crossed cheering for your victory. I think that your popularity will be comparable with that of Klitschko and Usyk, and the victories will be the same," Poroshenko said during the training of the team of the Invictus Games in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The president expressed confidence that the Ukrainian team will demonstrate in the Invictus Games "the strength and invincibility of the Ukrainian spirit, the physical and moral strength of the soldiers of the new Ukrainian army."
"Good luck at competitions, warriors, and wish you to win. Ukraine is cheering for you!" Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.
Third Invictus Games will be held in Toronto, Canada, from September 24 until September 30. The tournament will unite more than 550 wounded fighters from 17 countries that will compete in 12 adaptive sports disciplines.
As reported, on September 20, Poroshenko will take part in the work of the UN General Assembly, the UN Security Council summit, where he intends to raise the issue of introducing a peacekeeping mission into Donbas.
