PGO jointly with SBU raids Ukrzaliznytsia's divisions

Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) as part of a pretrial investigation into abuse of power and forgery took steps to stop actions linked to the embezzlement of money in public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia, in particular the money intended to ensure the proper conditions for transportation of passengers.

"It was established that the Ukrzaliznytsia's division early summer 2017 signed a contract with a company for over UAH 3.8 million allegedly to improve the functioning of air conditioning systems of passenger wagons and buy 7 tonnes of coolant. According to the expert, the substance supplied cannot be used in the air conditioning systems of trains used to transport passengers," the press service of PGO reported on Tuesday.

PGO jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) raided Ukrzaliznytsia's divisions on Tuesday. Documents and over 45 tankers with unknown substance were seized. According to the shipment documents this substance must be coolant.

The issue of notifying officials of Ukrzaliznytsia who accepted the improper products that they are suspected of committing a crime is being organized.
