Ukrzaliznytsia cancels purchase of six diesel trains for UAH 1.6 bln

PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia has canceled tenders for the purchase of six passenger diesel trains for regional transportation for the expected amount of UAH 1.062 billion, rejecting both submitted applications from Kriukov Car Building Works (KCBW) and Kharkiv Wagon Plant because of inconsistency of tender documentation.

According to information on the ProZorro portal, the tender committee made a corresponding decision to reject the applications on August 21, in connection with which the bidding was canceled due to a lack of participants. At the same time, the auction was scheduled for August 28.

As reported, a tender for the purchase of diesel trains was announced on March 7, and since then they have been accompanied by complaints from potential participants, including those regarding discriminatory trading conditions and violations of legislation, a number of changes were made to the documents.

At the same time, if initially KCBW noted the tender conditions were made for the Polish diesel trains Pesa, then after changes had been put to the documents on the AMC's decision, Pesa started complaining about discrimination against foreign participants.
