El Prat Airport returns to normal operation after strike

El Prat International Airport (Barcelona, Spain) has returned to normal operation after the strike, the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has reported.

"El Prat International Airport in Barcelona operates as usual - the strike has been stopped," the department of the consular service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on its Twitter on Friday.

As reported, on August 4 security officers of the international airport of El Prat began an indefinite strike action, demanding to reduce the burden on them.

El Prat is the second largest airport in Spain. Last year, more than 44 million people used it.

From 2009 to 2016 passenger traffic at the airport of Barcelona grew by 60%, AFP said. During the same period, the number of security personnel decreased from 500 to 360 people, the strike participants said.
