All top managers of Ukrzaliznytsia must be fired
Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has welcomed the decision of the government to dismiss Ukrzaliznytsia Board Chairman Wojciech Balczun and believes that all top managers of the company must be reshuffled, the press service of the ministry has reported on its website.
"Dismissal of Balczun is a right step. However, the dismissal was to be approved no later than June 2017 after the relevant report in the government. Unfortunately, we have not seen this report. I would like to say that I raised the issue of reshuffling top managers of Ukrzaliznytsia in the past 10 months, and finally, this happened. Now the key thing is the full replacement of all top managers of Ukrzaliznytsia by professional and independent managers," the press service said, citing Omelyan.
The minister welcomed steps of law enforcers who are investigating into operations of the Ukrzaliznytsia's top managers.
Prosecutor General's Office Spokeswoman Larysa Sarhan wrote on her Facebook page that Balczun appointed to the post of Ukrzaliznytsia board chairman on April 20, 20116, did not come to his workplace many times: she said that 87 out of 145 working days in 2016 and 45 days out of 103 days in 2017 he was absent.
She recalled that Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko a week ago sent a letter to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman. He said that the board of Ukrzaliznytsia does not properly fulfill its liabilities.
