Scandal around Ryanair is airline's method to enter new market – UIA

The scandal around the plans of the largest European low cost airline – Ryanair – to enter the Ukrainian market is the airline's method to enter new markets.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that UIA President Yuriy Miroshnykov said this at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

"I have feeling based on studying experience of Ryaniar and its operations at other airports: this is its method to enter the market of any country – scandals and pressure on society, which allows achieving the approval of own conditions and then – operations. I have an impression that something unique in the practice of this airline is happening in Ukraine now," he said.

Miroshnykov said that the entire process of entering the Ukrainian market is ultimatum demands the airline puts forward both to Ukrainian economic entities and other entities.

"I do not know if they achieve the goal mentioned in the memorandum signed with [Infrastructure] Minister Volodymyr Omelyan. I think they would not. I hope that the company will be satisfied with the normal conditions of Ukrainian airports," he said.
