Crimea, Chornomorska company, ICTV, Channel 5, Tonis to start broadcasting in Crimea

Television channels UA: Crimea (National Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Ukraine), Chornomorska TV and radio broadcasting company, ICTV, Channel 5 and Tonis have won a tender of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine to broadcast digital signal from the tower in Chonhar (Kherson region) reaching the northern part of the occupied Crimea.

"Seven TV channels submitted bids at the tender held by the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting: UA: Crimea, Chornomorska TV and radio broadcasting company, ICTV, STB, PravdaTUT, Channel 5 and Tonis. We thank all television channels for their patriotic position and support of Crimea not only in word, but also in deed," a member of the council Serhiy Kostinsky wrote on his Facebook page.

He said that the audience of the TV channels will be over 200,000 Crimean residents.

He recalled that all Ukrainian TV channels and 10 radio stations are available in Crimea from Astra and Amos satellites.

"The First Channel of Ukrainian Radio is broadcasting on 70% of the Crimean territory on medium-frequency waves 549 kHz," he said.
