Ukroboronprom expects Ukrainian Navy to accept radiosonic system used in Sea Breeze 2017

The Ukroboronprom State Concern expects that tests will be conducted and the Ukrainian Navy will accept a radiosonic system created at the enterprises of the concern and used during the Sea Breeze 2017 multinational military drills in Odesa on July 10-22 with 16 countries taking part.

The press service of the concern reported on Monday that the radiosonic buoys designed and produced by Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Hydrodevices incorporated in Ukroboronprom allowed targeting an imaginary enemy – Turkey's Batirai S-349 submarine – and sending its location information to the flagman ship – Hetman Sahaidachny frigate.

"Ukrainian seamen "tracked" the submarine for over one hour and monitored its moves, which allows destroying the enemy in real combat conditions," the concern said.

Currently the issue of preparing the radiosonic system to public tests for accepting it by the Ukrainian Navy is being considered, the press service said.

The concern said that the similar task during Sea Breeze 2017 was completed by U.S. Navy, using P-8 Poseidon plane and CG66 Hue City missile cruiser.
