Naftogaz backs quick extension of Ukrnafta's licenses

National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy believes that the licenses for deposit use for public joint-stock company Ukrnafta should be extended as soon as possible, the company's press service has reported.

"Naftogaz calls on officials of the State Service of Geology and Deposits of Ukraine to execute the court ruling, according to which the debt for taxes and duties is not the legal ground for refusal to extend the licenses," the press service said.

Naftogaz said that over the non-extension of nine licenses in 2017 Ukrnafta could lose around 20% of oil and condensate production and 16% of gas production.

"Taking into account the fact that after the unlawful refusal of the State Service of Geology and Deposits to extend the licenses eight settlements have been left without gas supplies with over 50,000 people are living. Naftogaz is asking authorized agencies to help to quickly settle the issue of extending the licenses," the press service said.
